About Me

Well, I have never been one to toot my own horn, but here goes.

I am a Canadian, based in Nagoya, Japan. My interest in writing comes from the inspiration of my wife, Akiko, a university professor, and my brother Shawn, who has an amazing imagination and has created some wonderful stories.

Studying at several universities has given me a perspective on education; it should be available to everyone. I have studied at York University, Mount Allison University, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Cambridge.

My desire to create study guides comes from my own time in high school, when all we had in Canada were 'notes' from a large book retailer. They were ok. I figured I missed a lot by using just those notes. I wouldn't get a full picture of the novel. But sure, I should be reading the novel.

I love classical literature. I am in love with Shakespeare. The novels I had to read in high school were amazing. And, I had terrific English teachers. I was fortunate.

The titles I choose to write about are just a fraction of the books I want to cover. So, if you can't find a title you are reading, let me know, and I will create a study guide for it.

As for historical fiction, The Beale Legacy is planned as a four-book series. This is a storyline I love and am excited to share the next book sometime later in 2026.

My storytelling helps me when I create Live Action Role Play (LARP) events. Its my hobby and passion.

I have a lovely wife of 28 years and two daughters. We have 2 rescue cats and a Jack Russell terrier who keeps all of us in line.
